How to care for your inkjet printer

As whit any other piece of electronic equipment, some things need to be done to get the most of your inkjet printer.
Regulary maintenance and cleaning is something that is given but sadly enough many people dosent do it and instead have to spend money on a new printer since the old dosent work that well.

If you use to turn your printer on and off, it could be a bad thing if you arent using a a power strip. When you turn the printer off it seats the printer head into a very special position before it completley shut down to protect the printer. When using a power strip it turns the power on and off, and dosent allow the printer to reseting the head in the correct position, But in the long way
it might hurt the printer more then its usefull.

At some time the print head may be clogged and the printouts could be missing lines or even be clogged.

Even though lexmark printers are a good buy and have many customers due to good quality they still have the same problem that other printers have. A repair a Lexmark printer could be an expensive history if you choose a repair company.

But there is a good thing that Lexmark printers dosent have any complicated mechanisms or functions and therefore could be easily used by anyone from novice to expert.

Sometimes the printer stops to respond, if thats the case check the connection to the net and powersupply, make sure that everything is connected properly.
Don´t use the printer by sharing it whit other highpower deamnding units or by connecting it whit a extensioncord.

If the printer stops printing, check the cable first of all. Some Lexmark printers stops printing if the papertray is empty  or if the output tray is full. If so then either remove paper from the output tray or add paper to the input tray, to get the printer back its fuctionally.

* Jammed Paper

Open the printer carefully and gently remove the paper, making sure that all the paper that was jaming the printer is removed. When you already have the door open, take a small brush and clean the inside of the printer.

* The thicknesses of the letters are uneven

If this happens it could be three things that are bad, toner cartridge, photo developer or transfer belt. The best solution is to check whit a certified technician that could identify and replace the part that is broken.

* Streaks appear vertically

The cause is that the toner has smeared and there fore it be completley fused whit paper or the cartridge of toner is damaged due to excessive use.

* Blank Pages

The tone may be damaged or empty, it the toner is brand new, recheck so you didnt miss any of the packing materials that is needed to remove before the installation.

* Paper curls after printing

First check to se if the paper is compatible whit your printer. If they are, check if wheter the paper has been stored in a humid enviroment, it could have absorbed moisture. If it had, just replace the paper.
